How to verify a hotel really has a charger

"EV charging" on a booking site can mean a maintained dual-port station, one weathered wall outlet, or equipment that was removed two owners ago. Verify before you rely on it.

Five checks, in order

1. Check the date on the data. Every listing in this directory shows the date its charging facts were last confirmed by the source. Older data deserves a call.
2. Call the front desk, not the booking line. Central reservations reads the same website you do. The front desk can see the parking lot.
3. Ask what kind of connector it is. If the answer is confident and specific, the charger is probably real and maintained. See our connector guide if the terms are new.
4. Ask whether it is guest-only or open to the public. A public station at a busy hotel can be occupied by non-guests exactly when you arrive.
5. Ask how many ports there are. One port at a full hotel means a queue. The listings here show port counts when the source reports them.

When you arrive

Plug in before you check in. If the station is broken or blocked, the front desk can often move a car, and you still have time to use a public fast charger nearby.
